Do you do custom sized splashbacks?
Yes! Most of our splashbacks are custom sized and made to fit your space, but we also supply standard sizes too.
What is the recommended distance between the hob and the splashback?
Always look at the manufacturers recommended clearances, where these are unavailable use the guide below:
For gas hobs the recommended distance of hob to splashback is 100mm from the edge of the gas rear burner to the glass splashback
For induction or ceramic the recommended distance is 50mm from the edge of the hob to the glass splashback.
What is the warranty on the glass?
All glass orders come with a 10 year warranty. The warranty covers:
Colour fading – over 10% from the original colour
Paint de-lamination – paint flaking or delaminating from the back of the glass
Workmanship – if the installation is not up to our standards (excludes Supply Only orders)
Adhesion and/or mechanical fixing.
Are there any warranty exclusions?
Yes – the warranty does not cover paint or print deterioration caused by:
Accidental scratches or chips caused by the customer due to normal wear and tear
Acts of nature
Deterioration that has originated from the substrate
Excessive or prolonged heat from a gas hob that is within the recommended 100mm distance between the splashback and the closest edge of the back burner
Variation of colour due to changes in glass composition
Damage caused by water/moisture entering from behind the substrate.
What are your lead times?
The time varies for different splashback materials.
For painted, printed, textured and mirrored glass, we allow around 7-10 working days from the date we place the order to the time your splashback is ready for install.
For Laminam, we allow around 7-10 working days.
For slumped glass, we allow around 8-10 weeks due to the hand-crafted nature of this splashback.
Once your glass/Laminam is ready, we will call to arrange a date to install.
What are your payment terms for ordering?
We require a 50% deposit which is payable before we order your splashback. Once we have received your deposit, your order will be manufactured.
The remaining balance will be invoiced once your splashback has been installed.
Can I cut into my splashback?
Any cut out shapes – such as for powerpoints or to fit around your cupboards – need to be done during the manufacturing process. Once the glass has been toughened and installed, it is not possible to cut into it.
For Laminam it is possible to cut in powerpoints, please contact us for further details.
What colours are available for painted splashbacks?
The colour choices are endless. We do have a number of standard colours. If you find that our colours are not quite right, we can also colour match to any major paint brands.
What images are available for my printed image splashback?
Shutterstock is a great option to search for images. There are over 250 million images available. We have an account with Shutterstock and are able to download the full version from our end. If there is an image you come across that you like, be sure to make a note of the ID number which is often located at the bottom of the image.
Lucy G is another great option. Lucy is a photographic artist with a stunning collection of images suitable for splashbacks. Additional art and licensing fees apply, payable direct to Lucy.
Murray Short is a locally based photographer of Kapiti Island images. Murray has an ever-expanding collection of images suitable for splashbacks. Additional art and licensing fees apply, payable direct to Murray.
Can I provide my own images?
Yes! You are absolutely more than welcome to use your own images. As long as the image is of printable quality, you are most welcome to do so.
Do you provide proofs prior to printing?
Yes! If your splashback features an image/photograph/artwork, our process is that we will always provide a proof to our customers prior to any manufacturing. We always want to ensure that you are happy with the final cropped image and also image quality before we put anything into production. First proof or 15 mins of artwork is free! Additional charge may apply if further proofs are required.
Can you print glass for outdoor use?
If the glass is completely exposed to the elements and not covered, unfortunately the print/paint would not withstand the weather. If the area were covered (i.e. covered BBQ area), the print would be fine.
